a planned gift to the rockefeller university gives you an opportunity to make a lasting investment in the promising future of biomedical research. a planned gift—whether it is designated to a specific area of research or unrestricted for use at the discretion of the university—may be made through a will or through a variety of charitable gift arrangements. you may also realize significant tax savings and, in some cases, increased income through these gift plans.
As long-term philanthropic arrangements, planned gifts help ensure the future of the University’s robust scientific enterprise. The late Richard B. “Dick” Fisher epitomized Rockefeller’s wonderful planned giving benefactors. A business leader, Dick Fisher worked at Morgan Stanley for almost 40 years, eventually becoming Chairman of the firm. After retiring from Morgan Stanley in 1997, Dick became increasingly involved at The Rockefeller University. He was elected Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees in 1998, and derived enormous satisfaction from his role as an advocate of the extraordinary work at Rockefeller. Wanting to create a lasting investment in scientific research, Dick left a major bequest to the University’s general endowment in his estate plans.
Rockefeller’s planned giving donors, such as Dick Fisher, are recognized as members of the University’s Laureate Circle, which was created to honor the remarkable individuals who include Rockefeller in their estate plans.
