Summer Neuroscience Program (SNP)
2020欧洲杯在线网址the summer neuroscience program (snp) at the rockefeller university is a two-week course aimed at introducing talented nyc public high school students to the brain. led by graduate students, the program takes a look at the most current research in neuroscience in an effort to understand how our brain works and how it relates to our daily life. in addition to the series of highly interactive lectures, students present fun and fascinating journal articles to their classmates. students also visit research laboratories, dissect brains, and design and conduct neuroscience experiments.
The SNP 2020 deadline for applications is 5 PM, Friday, April 3rd, 2020.
a subset of applicants will be invited for an interview the weekend of may 2-3, 2020.
snp 2020 will take place from august 17-28, meeting monday through friday from 9:30am to 4:00pm. classes are held at the rockefeller university in manhattan (map), and all expenses are covered, including mta passes, meals, and school supplies throughout the program. please note that accepted applicants will be required to commit to attending the entire program, barring any emergencies. please do not apply if you will not be available for any part of the program.
we seek motivated, mature, and inquisitive students, irrespective of previous scholastic achievement or experience with science. we are particularly interested in applications from students with limited opportunities to explore scientific interests. to be eligible for participation, students must be enrolled in a new york city public school, and must be at least 16 years of age at the start of the program — we cannot make exceptions!
students must both complete the student application and have a teacher complete the reference form. incomplete applications missing either part will not be considered. a subset of applicants will be contacted by the snp directors to arrange an interview.
