The Royal Society

founded in 1660 as an "invisible college" of natural philosophers and physicians, the royal society is the national science academy of the united kingdom and the oldest national scientific institution in the world. comprising a fellowship of some 1,600 of the world’s most eminent scientists, members are elected solely on the merit of their scientific work. there are 25 members of the royal society who have associations with the rockefeller university.
